On Valentine’s Day weekend, come to experience a delightful cabaret show about love that is not just for couples but for the entire family. Dorothy Doring presents “The Glory of Love” featuring songs about all kinds of love, both past and present including the many stages of love as well as songs of melancholy, nostalgia and universal love.

Dorothy Doring’s repertoire on the topic of love will include songs from the great American Songbook and beyond. Dorothy has had experience in everything from folk to country, to pop and rock, to blues and jazz. Dorothy Doring is a respected and seasoned Twin Cities vocalist who has recorded three award winning albums and has performed with a variety of groups at numerous clubs including The Dakota, Crooner’s Supper Club and at premier events like the Twin Cities Jazz Festival. With a relaxed and authentic stage presence, Dorothy communicates and engages audiences using the intimate style of cabaret. In addition to her singing career, Ms. Doring was a full-time music specialist for the Saint Paul Public Schools until her retirement from teaching in 2015. Dorothy continues to perform several gigs a month and is currently working on a new project of all original songs. She will be accompanied by pianist Marc Ziegenhagen.
Marc Ziegenhagen
Marc Ziegenhagen (Marc Z) will be accompanying Dorothy Doring on her show “The Glory of Love”. Marc is a pianist with a very eclectic musical background. Educated at Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, Marc keeps an active performing career playing with a variety of bands including R Factor, Soul Tight Committee, Mambo’s Combo, Greasy Meal, Horn Heads and Jonny Lang. Marc Z performed at The Ritz in NYC involving a 30-piece orchestra and rock band made up of notable Zappa Alumni. The PolyGram CD release of this performance won a Grammy in 1992 for “Best Rock Instrumental”. Marc has composed and produced soundtrack and incidental music for broadcast on PBS Television, Corporate, Industrial and show room videos. In addition, Marc Z was a Grammy Award Winner in 1994 for "Sofa," Best Rock Instrumental Performance, featuring guitarist Steve Vai.
