"Hipster" was a term for someone in the know. This is a set of tunes spanning 50 years that looks at those movers and shakers, from the golden days of swing to the current crop of trendsters. One thing all these songs have in common is a swinging tempo. From Vegas lounge to swanky dive—all things swing, juke & jumping!
Joey Babay

Joey Babay has performed musical theater on many local stages as well as touring regionally. He is recognized both for his unique turns in character and supporting roles over many genres and his talents as an “understudy king” due to his skill as an actor, singer, and dancer. Cabaret has given him the outlet to tell the stories that have been itching to get out and share some of the music that is dear to him. He has several solo shows in the works: Coming Out Swinging, which looks at hipsters from the Golden Age of lounge acts to the current crop of troubadours; The Trunk Songs of Cy Coleman; Jimmy Webb, Tunesmith; and a compilation of character pieces called Songs for the Misfits & Forgotten. He also has performed as an alter-ego Roddy Kensington who is all things British pop and boy bands. In addition to cabaret, Joey employs a lot of his time in the 'marching and pageantry arts' as an adjudicator.
