Nathan Cicero (OOTR 2021)

Assistant Conductor

Pianist Nathan Cicero is an energetic and engaging performer, who thrives on working collaboratively with other musicians. As a conductor, coach, and educator, he is known for his down-to-earth, congenial style, and pursuit of unique and nuanced musical experiences.

Currently residing in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Nathan has established himself as a versatile and multi-faceted musician, working with a wide variety of local arts organizations. Most recently, he has served as Assistant Conductor for Saint Croix Valley Opera’s “Opera On the River” concerts, as well as music director and pianist for Cosi Fan Tutte with Skylark Opera Theatre.

Also an accomplished liturgical musician, Nathan serves as Director of Music and Organist at the Church of St. Mark in St. Paul. He previously held a music internship at Baltimore’s Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, frequently conducting the semi-professional Cathedral Choir.

Nathan holds a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory, where he studied with Elieen Cornett. While at Peabody, he held a graduate assistantship in Opera Accompanying, working on numerous productions with Peabody Opera Theatre, as well as accompanying in the vocal studios of Denyce Graves, William Sharp, and Stanley Cornett. In 2018, Nathan was selected for Peabody’s InterPlay program along with mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Sarian, through which he presented masterclasses and an interactive art song recital to students at the University of Maryland- Baltimore County. A native of Wisconsin, Nathan earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire in 2016.
