St. Croix Valley Opera is pleased to present:

An Opera Adventure for Young Imaginations
Commissioned and produced by St. Croix Valley Opera, The Magic Flute & The Lost Prince for Kids is the second work in SCVO’s growing library of operas created especially for young audiences.
Using the timeless music of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, this reimagined version features new, age-appropriate dialogue and an engaging story that invites children into the world of opera through laughter, participation, and heart.
Students meet Papageno, a lovable bird-catcher who longs for friendship; Tamino, a prince learning what true bravery means; and Pamina, whose kindness helps guide them all. Along the way, the audience becomes part of the magical forest itself—responding, listening, and learning alongside the characters.
The production will tour schools throughout the Twin Cities Metro and the St. Croix River Valley, followed by special public performances at The Phipps Center for the Arts. These ticketed performances feature an extended version of the story, giving families the chance to experience even more music, magic, and storytelling together.

Location of Performance(s):
St. Croix Valley Opera will be showcasing a shortened sampling of The Magic Flute & The Lost Prince for Kids in April of 2026 for St. Croix Valley & Twin Cities Metro 3rd through 6th-grade students, followed by matinee performances at The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, WI the weekend of the in-school performances. Children will be introduced to opera, maybe for the first time. Then, along with their parents, they would be encouraged to see the extended production that weekend at The Phipps together.

Please Consider Making A Difference In These Kids' Lives:
We are also planning to find community support to work alongside local organizations interested in helping fund this opportunity for the children throughout the valley, and have made it very simple to make a donation/sponsorship contribution designated specifically for these educational events. Please consider making a contribution to help sponsor this program and others in our 2026 season by following this link, and you will find suggested items that need your support! Thank you and we hope to see you there, and maybe even work with you to bring this great opportunity to the children!

We look forward to seeing you at The Magic Flute & The Lost Prince for Kids!
