St. Croix Valley Opera is announcing its upcoming Summer Vocal Institute for 2024! Come study vocal performance excellence in the beautiful St. Croix Valley region as one of the next generations of emerging singers from June 16-22, 2024! The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin serves as the host for SVI week.
About the Program:
St. Croix Valley Opera's Summer Vocal Institute is a one-week performing arts intensive designed to give emerging vocal professionals in the region a chance to receive quality instruction not only in voice technique but also in performance and other necessary skills for a career in the performing arts. At the end of the Institute, students will walk away with the tools, techniques, and knowledge they need to be well-rounded both as performers and as professionals in the performing arts.

Learn from a faculty of skilled and experienced professional opera and musical theatre performers as you progress and navigate the ever-winding road of a career in today's singing industry. Guest clinician, TBA, will join the SVI this year to instruct students in a master class during the week-long intensive.

At the end of the week, we’ll throw open the doors to the public for a final celebratory presentation featuring group performances and solos you’ve workshopped during the week.

SCVO understands the importance of ongoing, intentional education as a professional musician. The SVI was designed for young emerging artists to have an intensive learning experience beyond their regular vocal study. Obed Floan, SCVO’s Executive Director shares: “As a result of their involvement in the SVI, these emerging professional singers will be set apart from their peers by this insider training from some of the industry's best. This experience will be foundational to their growth and success as a professional vocal performer.”

Price: $600.00 USD, covering all 7 days, including all instructional material. Select meals will be provided. Please note that some lodging may be available upon request, however most meals, and all transportation will be the responsibility of the student—these are not provided by SCVO.
