Megan Wagner (SVI 2024)
Faculty Instructor
Megan Wagner, Doctor of Musical Arts (ABD) and one of SCVO’s founders as well as its current general manager, is an experienced operatic soprano and concert soloist. Her studies have taken her from the University of Minnesota to the University of Oklahoma and back again, as well as stints further afield at the Haus Marteau Internationale Musikbegegnungsstätte and time in Verona, Italy. Megan has performed with the Minnesota Opera, the Wagner Society of the Upper Midwest, the BW Wagner Intensive, Garden of Song Opera, and the Bloomington Symphony, in roles including Sieglinde and Brünnhilde in Die Walküre, Aida in Aida, and Desdemonda in Otello. Her concert solo credits include Bach’s Wachet Auf, Handel’s Messiah, and Mozart's Requiem. Alongside her husband Obed, she runs a vocal studio which for more than 15 years has trained students to reach their professional goals, including acceptance into their chosen school, young artist program, or professional roles in opera or on Broadway.
