Emily Triebold (HBSC 2026)
Mezzo-Soprano
Contralto Emily Triebold is sought after for her interpretations of both modern and lyric repertoire. Recent engagements include performances with the Brooklyn Art Song Society, where she sang the American premiere of Charlotte Bray’s The Earth Cried Out to the Sky and presented a recital of Shostakovich’s Op. 38, as well as appearances with the New England Symphony Ensemble at Carnegie Hall as alto soloist in Vaughan Williams’s Serenade to Music. Ms. Triebold made her house debut with Nashville Opera as Giovanna in Rigoletto, earning praise as “seductive and darling” from Music City Review. Other notable engagements include appearances with the New York City Ballet in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, covering Martha in Sky on Swings with Opera Saratoga, and performing Mrs. Cripps (Buttercup) in H.M.S. Pinafore with Pensacola Opera.
A passionate advocate for new and contemporary works, Ms. Triebold spent three seasons as an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera, where she performed roles including the Baroness in Candide and Mrs. Splinters in The Tender Land, while also covering roles in Bon Appétit! and Flight. Additional young artist engagements include the Glimmerglass Festival, where she covered the Sorcerer in Rinaldo and the Old Woman in Candide, and appeared as a featured soloist alongside Anthony Roth Costanzo. She was also slated to join the Apprentice Artist Program at Santa Fe Opera for Rusalka (COVID-19).
In competition, Ms. Triebold has received honors from the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards, the Laffont Competition, the Pasadena Vocal Competition, the International Zenith Opera Competition, and the Great Composers Competition, where she won first prize for Best Brahms Performance. She is thrilled to be returning to St. Croix Valley Opera after receiving first prize in their Vocal Competition and performing at Opera on the River in 2024.
Ms. Triebold holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. A proud Wisconsin native, she enjoys reading, embroidering, spending time outdoors with her husband Adam, and being a mom to their beautiful boy, Henry.
