Mezzo-Soprano

Jennifer has been singing professionally in the Twin Cities area for over two decades, on stage in theatrical productions and as a concert soloist and cabaret artist. This past year, she was seen in the St. Croix Valley Opera’s New Year’s Eve Extravaganza, and sang in their Cabaret Night series, both live-streamed and in person at Brix Music Café, and The Phipps Center for the Arts. She has performed with numerous local companies, notably the Ordway Center, Artistry Theater, Plymouth Playhouse, Skylark Opera Theatre, and over 30 productions with the Minnesota Opera. A versatile vocalist, Eckes has found solo opportunities at venues such as the Bloomington Center for the Arts, Hastings Arts Center, Hanifl Performing Arts Center, Bryant-Lake Bowl, Honey Lounge, Crooners, and the Nicollet Island Inn. Touted by reviewers for her “strong, lovely voice” and an “engaging gift for song”, Jennifer loves to tell the story of each song she sings in order to reach the audience on a personal level. She is thrilled to be a part of Opera on the River!
